Many companies keep sensitive personal information about customers or employees in their files or on their network. Do you know if your company’s privacy policy relating to that data is sufficient? Are you doing enough with encryption and firewalls to protect that data? In this webinar, the Federal Trade Commission will present 10 principles distilled from the hundreds of cases that is has brought to help ensure that your company has a sound security plan in place that can help you meet your legal obligations to protect that sensitive data. We will delve into specific technological deficiencies that have subjected other companies to government action and how to avoid the same mistakes. You will also learn about recent methods of attack, ways to stay apprised of the latest hacker methods, and what to do in the event that a data breach is discovered. Finally, are you up on the Red Flags Rule? The EU-U.S. Privacy Shield Framework? The FTC’s Breach Notification Rule? Learn about these and other rules that may govern the protection of data.
