West Park / Kamm's Corners

Kamm’s Corners Development Corp. represents the robust commercial district at the intersection of Lorain Ave. and Rocky River Drive. Additionally, this portion of West Park includes an impressive housing stock on tree-lined streets, many of which are in close proximity to the Rocky River Reservation. This CDC serves the West park neighborhood along with Bellaire Puritas Development Corporation (BPDC), which represents the commercial retail district of Lorain Avenue between W 120th street and West 143rd street and on the North side of Lorain Avenue between West 143rd street and West 120th street. In 2013, BPDC completed the Lorain Avenue Pedestrian Plan that was built around creating a strengthened corridor with re-established connections to the greater West Park neighborhood. The $8 million rehabilitation portion was completed in the fall of 2016. BPDC has advocated for improved walkability, creating a community center for the neighborhood, and installing large planter boxes to beautify the area. They track the vacancies in the area and have relationships with several business owners in an attempt to fill the spaces. New businesses in the Bellaire Puritas service area include a new Wendy’s, incorporating stone signage and benches, as well as a Sunoco gas/convenience store that is working to preserve the original building while creating inviting indoor/outdoor space.
