It’s been a busy three months for Lena Wilson and her company, Uncle Crunch.

Since Cleveland Chain Reaction, Wilson has seen success for her freeze-dried treat business at both the national and local level as she’s appeared on QVC and secured a partnership with Malley’s Chocolates.

Uncle Crunch’s products range from taffy to Krispies to pickle chips – all offering a unique crunch that’s both satisfying and fun to eat.

The QVC appearance aired on national television Nov. 13 and has since generated close to 1,500 sales across the country.

“I get a notification when somebody goes on my website,” Wilson says. “It never gets old. I can see their location and it’s exciting to see how extensive that has allowed me to go. I’m seeing Oklahoma and Nevada and Hawaii and New York City.”

QVC requires that all orders placed during the live pitch are fulfilled within 24 hours, so close to 700 bags have already been delivered.

“I had somebody post on my Facebook page and say, ‘I watched you in QVC and I got my package and so and so was my favorite flavor,’” Wilson says. “I loved it, so it means a lot to me.”

She’s already eager to go back.

In addition to her national success, Uncle Crunch has also secured a deal with Cleveland’s iconic Malley’s Chocolates. The two companies are partnering on a co-branded freeze-dried version of Malley’s chocolate treats that will be on shelves for the holiday season.

With both brands featured on the packaging, Malley’s asked Wilson’s designer to create the packaging.

“I was super excited for her because she’s also just starting out and a local business,” Wilson says.

While the project is still developing, tune into Malley’s and Uncle Crunch’s channels for the big reveal in the coming weeks.

Seeing the success that her first year of business has already brought, Wilson says she can’t even imagine what the next year holds.
“There’s no boundaries, there’s no limits,” she says. “Whatever comes my way. It’s really empowering.”
