Let these five tips inspire you to embrace positivity, find opportunities in adversity and create a lasting impact on the world around you.

In life and business, maintaining a Positive Mental Attitude can be the game-changer that sets you apart. From Babe Ruth’s iconic mindset of viewing every strike as a step closer to a home run, to finding opportunities in the face of challenges, PMA empowers us to keep moving forward. It’s about shifting your outlook to transform outcomes, approaching disagreements with constructive techniques like A.C.S., and guarding against the complacency that hinders progress. And let’s not forget the importance of giving back—because doing well by doing good isn’t just a nice idea; it’s a powerful path to personal and professional growth. Let these five tips inspire you to embrace positivity, find opportunities in adversity and create a lasting impact on the world around you.

  1. Positive Mental Attitude.

“Every strike brings me closer to the next homerun."- Babe Ruth

When you get rejected, do you view it as a no or not now? I love this quote by the Babe. He had a Positive Mental Attitude when he was up at the plate. What about you? Do you maintain a positive mental attitude when you face rejection knowing that you are what step closer to getting the sale?

  1. Changing your outlook will change the outcome.

What do you see when bad things happen in your life? Are you an Optimist or Pessimist? Do you see an opportunity or a dead end? Start looking beyond the problem you are experiencing and begin looking for the opportunity instead of dwelling on the negative. Adopting a PMA Positive Mental Attitude will force you to look for the positive in everything negative that happens.

  1. A C S

Have you ever been in a conversation with someone, and you did not agree with the position they were taking? There is a technique that I use that gives me an opportunity to agree to disagree and provide another potential option. A C S is an Acronym for Acknowledge, Concern and then Suggest. You simply Acknowledge (Not agree) with what was said. Then you go on to express your Concerns about their position and end by Suggesting what you feel is a better option.

  1. Complacency is the enemy of progress. -Dave Stutman

The greatest enemy of progress is your last success, you could become so proud of what you've already accomplished that you stop moving ahead to what you can still accomplish. Don’t get too high or low. Strive to get better at what you day every day!

  1. Do Well by Doing Good!

Though the model has shifted throughout the decades, “doing well by doing good” has been in practice since the days of Benjamin Franklin, the American founding father credited with coining the phrase. The definition is someone who achieves social acceptance or financial success as a result of behaving in a benevolent or charitable manner. In other words, you know the importance of giving back your time, talent and treasure because the more you give the more you get!
