Greater Cleveland Partnership continues to make Cleveland a Great Region on a Great Lake
Innovation is Greater Cleveland’s DNA – yesterday, today and tomorrow. GCP's origin story traces back over 100 years ago to July 7, 1848, when 36 business leaders came together to form the Cleveland Board of Trade. That became the Cleveland Chamber of Commerce, the Growth Association & Cleveland Tomorrow -- and today is your Greater Cleveland Partnership.
From the beginning, business leaders set their sights on supporting the growth of the region and laid the foundation for a Greater Cleveland whose businesses and residents powered the industrial revolution - and the growth of what is now the largest region in Ohio, the 3rd largest in the Midwest and in the Top 20 in the country.
Prosperity from that period still benefits Greater Cleveland, from our museums, orchestra, theaters and parks to companies, universities and healthcare institutions that continue to be global leaders.
Today, as 175 years ago, our mission remains accelerating growth and prosperity, and our All In vision is to be a Great Region on a Great Lake.
We can’t wait to see what’s on the horizon …
In honor of the anniversary, we have created this video of historic highlights. Here’s to many more!
